. Step 1: Basic medical sciences: tests the basic concepts in clinical context. The result is reported as Pass/Fall only
. Step 2: Applications of medical science in the clinical practice. The result is reported as Pass/Fall only plus 3-digit numerical score
. Each step is one day test of around 300 MCQs over 8-9 hours. To pass, you should get 55-65% of questions correct
. Any step passed cannot be retaken. Any failed step, can be retaken for max 3 attempt per year
. Passing both steps gives ECFMG certificate to apply to residency programs. If matched you start the program in July
. After completing the residency program and becomes board certified, you can apply for subspecialty fellowship program
. NB: Step 3 can be taken during the residency and is required to get the license to practice as an independent physician
6 months on average. Every weekend or every other weekend 8am-4pm. This duration will be enough as we are teaching the material which most likely tested in the exam and not simply re-teaching the total years of medical school curriculum.
No, the 25 different disciplines covered by this course rely heavily on the cross-references between the subjects. Accordingly, to get the max benefit, students must be committed to attend the course in its entirety without missing any individual discipline or subject.
Yes, short personal interview is to be sure that the candidate is serious about the course. We reserve the right to reject admission to any candidate we feel that he/she is not committed.

English, of course, is the language of instruction. However, understanding Arabic language is plus as we occasionally like to utilize some Arabic phrases to illustrate certain concepts!
